Flavio Colantuoni – General Manager

With years of experience in the introduction and refurbishing of international hotels, Flavio brings his considerable expertise to Monastero Santa Rosa. Flavio’s native language is Italian, and he is also fluent in English, German and French. Until recently, Flavio was the director of the Hotel President in Abano, Italy, one of the best known spa facilities in Abano, home of 120 spa hotels. He was responsible for the successful transformation of Michelangelo de Teolo, a 90-suite hotel and spa, known as a well-being oasis. Flavio has held managerial positions at the Ritter’s Park Hotel in Bad Homburg, Germany; Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, England; the Palace Hotel and Suvretta House in St. Moritz, Switzerland; the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa, Switzerland; and the Palazzina Grassi in Venice. His first position upon completing Hotel School was at the famed Excelsior Palace on the Lido in Venice.

Christoph Bob – Executive Chef

Christoph Bob, the executive chef, brings extraordinary achievements in the food world to Monastero Santa Rosa with leading chef positions in some of the top restaurants throughout Europe. Just prior to joining the Monastero Santa Rosa team, he was chef de cuisine for eight years at the famed Relais Blu Villa Hotel in Massa Lubrense on the Sorrento Peninsula, where he received many plaudits for his mouthwatering dishes. He has held the coveted position of chef de cuisine at the Grand Hotel Villa a Fetrinelli, a Michelin one-star restaurant in Gargnano, Italy, and was sous chef at La Pergola Cavalieri, a Michelin three-star restaurant in Rome.

Other distinguished restaurants he has worked at include Alain Ducasse, the Michelin three-star restaurant in the Plaza Athenee in Paris; Torre del Saracino, the Michelin two-star restaurant in Naples, Italy; Taillevent, the three-star Michelin restaurant in Paris; and Petermann’s Kunststuben, the Michelin two-star restaurant in Zurich. He began his career in London where he worked at Mosimann’s.

German born, Christoph is married to a woman from the Amalfi Coast. He says “I not only fell in love with my wife, I fell in love with the destination and its food. Nowhere on earth does the sun and the soil give us such richness of flavors as with the fresh produce, herbs, and seafood found right here on our Coast.”

Christoph speaks German, English and Italian fluently and says he is “fair” in French.

Pompeo Amendola – Front Office Manager

As front office manager of Monastero Santa Rosa, Pompeo is responsible for room availability, reservations, reception and the well-being of the guests throughout their stay. Like most of the team at the hotel, Pompeo is from the Amalfi Coast, having grown up in the town of Amalfi and is delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project in his home region.

His most recent position was at the Hotel Caesar Augustus in Anacapri, Italy where he was reservations & events coordinator. He has also been part of the Front Office management team in the Hotel Villa Fraulo, Ravello and at Forte Village Hotel Villa Del Parco & Spa, Sardinia. He spent six years at Hotel Santa Caterina, Amalfi where he was concierge with additional front desk responsibilities and later sales and marketing agent. He began his hotel career at the Hotel Luna Convento in Amalfi and before that, he developed his appreciation for the hospitality industry as a travel agent.

Pompeo graduated from the Technical Institute of Tourism in Amalfi and also studied in England and Germany. He speaks Italian, English, French, Spanish, and German. And even with all of his responsibilities, Pompeo finds time every morning year-round for a swim in the Sea. That is no small feat.

Francesca Speroni – Spa Manager

Francesca is British born to Italian parents, and is fluent in Italian & English. Francesca’s past assignments have been in Qatar as a Spa Manager, previoulsy holding senior positions in the role of Salon Manager, Senior Therapist/Team Leader, as well as tutoring at a reputable beauty school in the UK. Francesca holds the valued CIDESCO International Dilpoma, is CIBTAC qualified as an Aestician, Body Therapy, Massage, Epilation, Indian Head Massage & Nails.

Sonia Vuilleumier – Head Housekeeper

There is no question that Sonia brings a great deal of passion to her work as head housekeeper for Monastero Santa Rosa. In 2007 while working for the five-star Orient Express Hotel Caruso, she was selected “Best Employee of the Year.” It is this kind of dedication that she brings to her new position.

Originally from the Amalfi Coast, Sonia began her Hospitality career as a wardrobe mistress and housekeeper at Hotel Le Agavi Positano in 1988. Over the years she has worked at other five-star hotels on the Amalfi Coast. Most recently, she was the head housekeeper at the prestigious Villa Cimbrone Ravello from 2008 to 2011.

When Sonia is not at Monastero Santa Rosa she can most likely be found in her garden. She is passionate about organic gardening and dabbles in vinification. On special occasions, Sonia pairs her homemade wine with a meal she prepares featuring organic vegetables from her very own garden. Everyone in town wants to get on her personal invite list! Sonia speaks Italian, English and French.
