Redefining al Fresco Dining
Dating back to its early days when the famous Sfogliatella Santa Rosa was created by the sisters within the monastery’s walls, Monastero Santa Rosa has been a place of culinary innovation. Today, the focus remains at the monastery, drawing on its long history, to serve guests world class meals in a world class location.
Ristorante il Refettorio
At Michelin-starred Il Refettorio, Chef Alfonso Crescenzo masterfully marries tradition and technique, using his passion for the area’s bounty and wide knowledge of the Campanian kitchen to deliver an experience unlike any other on the coast. Chef Crescenzo’s passion for the kitchen began at a very young age, cooking with his grandmother for the entire family in the local village of Sarno, where his family still resides and farms their own Terre Lavorate produce, following the challenging, but worthwhile, practices of pristine biological farming. His pursuit of knowledge subsequently took him all over the world, but it is in his native environment that he finds himself again, using his vast experience and repertoire of culinary skills to thrive while helming the kitchen of Il Refettorio and Monastero Santa Rosa.

Organic Gardens
Rich with volcanic soil, kissed with sunshine, and caressed with seaside breezes; some say there is no better place for produce than the area around Mount Vesuvius. The terraced garden located above Monastero Santa Rosa benefits from these elements and is where we grow a seasonal bounty of fruits and vegetables that are harvested when ripe and used throughout the hotel.
